Provide health and safety support to employees and contractors at a 300-person chemical facility in the Houston area. We are seeking a professional with strong plant safety skills and strong leadership skills. This role will be considered for a leadership role as a next step when the current EHS Manager retires in a few years. This company plans to expand heavily over the next 5 years. Ideally you will spend 70-80% of your time in the field and be a champion of behavior-based safety.
- Communicate safety standards and applicable regulations and promote safe behaviors
- Assist with hazard identification and control to minimize and mitigate risks
- Champion and promote a strong EHS culture throughout the organization and drive continuous improvement
- Lead the development, training, implementation, and monitoring of EHS policies, procedures, and programs
- Ensure that all processes and modifications to existing processes have been critically reviewed for PSM, risk management, and EHS considerations
- Provides technical review of Management of Change (MOC) documents as needed.
- Facilitates the Safety Committees and sub-committees including monthly and weekly Committee communication initiatives.
- Owns and leads the contractor safety management program.
- Maintain the emergency response plan
Requirements:
- BS Degree required and EHS related degree preferred and 5 or more years of plant related Safety experience
- Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC
- CSP or CFPS a plus
