The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment used in the handling, processing, and storage of liquids within the manufacturing plant. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable operations by ensuring all mechanical components—from pumps and piping to heat exchangers and pressure vessels—meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and specify mechanical systems for liquid transport, storage, and processing (e.g., pumps, piping, tanks, valves, seals).
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of liquid handling equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for rotating and fixed equipment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ASME, and industry-specific codes (e.g., API, ANSI).
- Collaborate with process engineers, maintenance teams, and operations to improve equipment uptime and plant efficiency.
- Assist in capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant expansions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including P&IDs, equipment specs, and maintenance records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in an industrial or chemical manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in mechanical system design and CAD tools.
- Knowledge of pumps, fluid dynamics, pressure vessels, and mechanical integrity principles.
