Job Description:
We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support instrumentation and reliability efforts at our refinery facility in the Greater Pittsburgh area. This role is responsible for leading instrumentation projects, improving equipment reliability, and supporting ongoing operations through technical expertise in electrical systems and controls.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead instrumentation and electrical upgrade projects from scope development to commissioning.

Analyze and improve reliability of critical electrical and instrumentation systems (e.g., control panels, analyzers, transmitters, and power distribution).

Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.

Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and process engineering teams to optimize asset performance.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes (NEC, NFPA 70E), and refinery procedures.

Specify, procure, and manage installation of instrumentation and control systems.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, loop drawings, and PM plans.
Qualifications:

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.

2–7 years of experience in electrical/instrumentation roles, preferably in refining, chemicals, or heavy industry.

Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, control systems, and reliability methodologies.

Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP), DCS/PLC platforms, and predictive maintenance tools.
