As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of automation, instrumentation, online analyzers, and safety instrumented systems (SIS) within an industrial manufacturing environment. This hands-on role is ideal for an engineer with expertise in instrumentation and controls who would like a highly creative role working with both hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative solutions for instrumentation, on-line analyzers and process control within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Develop project scopes and implement projects to pursue creative solutions.
- Utilize on-line analyzer technology to gather process data and centralize a data storage and analysis capability.
- Centralize data communication and storage between control systems used on multiple lines.
- The processes run on a campaign basis so you have the opportunity to be creative and explore different analytical and control solutions.
- Support the safe and efficient operation of experimental and scale-up processes.
- Maintain SIS
- Collaborate with R&D, process development, and operations teams
- Specify and commission instrumentation, control valves, and automation hardware.
- Develop and maintain control logic, loop tuning, and system documentation.
- Specify, install and integrate online analytical equipment.
- Explore robotics to automate tasks within the plant.
Qualifications:
BS CHE, EE or Computer Engineering, and experience in Pharma-chem, chemicals, refining
