Are you an Instrument/Electrical Engineer looking for a long term home in the chemical industry in Houston?  This opportunity is with a large chemical company that has a number of chemical plants and engineering offices in the greater Houston area.  They value their Engineers and have good technical and leadership tracks for growth.  You will be eligible for a profit share, the 9/80 schedule and a pension plan.  They can need you to provide Instrument and Electrical Maintenance Engineering support to an area of a large petrochemical complex.  Technical support is need around  various types of instrumentation, control valves, and low voltage electrical systems.  You will work as a member of an integrated multi-disciplinary team to drive reliability improvements and capital improvement projects to support the units I/E needs.  They offer a wide variety of career growth options across the company and this company can become your long term home. 

Job Focus:

•   Develops and maintain Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Plans and associated procedures
•   Analyze data to develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect plant operations.

•   Leads / Participates in formal and informal incident investigation teams as required (RCFA)
•   Develop long range equipment plans and identify and prioritize Bad Actor equipment
•   Develops and forecast spending plans for the expense budget
•   Supports Capital project organization in developing scope, participate in detailed design, and testing and execution phases of projects
•   Develops Instrumentation Turnaround scope        
•   Evaluate emerging technology to improve reliability and performance, or to reduce maintenance cost          
•   Supports Area Reliability Improvement Teams
•   Provides technical support to crafts and operations
•   Participates/leads Site Instrument/ Electrical/ Analyzer Forums
•   Ensures Data Management Systems are updated
•   Mentors Co-op Engineering students and participate in the on-boarding process
•   Creates Management of Change documents

 

Qualifications:

•   B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 4 or more years of experience in a chemical plant or refinery setting with a focus on instrumentation and low voltage systems
