The Chemicals segment of the engineering job market continues to lead in job creation. The Gulf Coast continues to the be the main area of job activities with ongoing expansions in Texas and Louisiana. We are expecting a wave of new job openings in March as many engineers are waiting to collect their 2018 bonus pay outs before they turn in a resignation. March and April have become peak months for resignations (after bonus payouts) and last year the job openings that spiked in March created enough openings to last through the summer.
