VP Of Business Development for Refining Services Company #1276
Salary: 120 – 150k plus bonus
Location: Houston, TX
Our client is a small but well established company that is a worldwide leader in providing services to refining industry. They sell patented chemical products and technical services to all types of refining organizations and are branching out into related business areas in pipelines. They are seeking to take the organization to the next level of success will be hiring a VP of Business Development to take a lead role in this effort. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of capturing and maintaining business with refining organizations.
Summary of essential job functions
- Responsible for the overall total revenue of 4 related business units that service the refining tank farm/vessel and pipeline/storage industry.
- Negotiate contracts that major oil companies offer to all divisions, as reviewed from company contracts and legal if necessary
- Develop sales goals and budgets with sales managers for all business units.
- Evaluate business plans with owners. Responsible for the execution of company policies
- Work with Marketing Manager on developing ad campaigns and trade shows
- Assist Sales Managers with customer presentations
- Contact and meet with higher level customers, such as National Contract Managers of Major oil companies.
- The Regional Sales Managers, Divisions Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and Marketing Manager, report to this position. Shared safety responsibility and an example of a safe worker
Requirements:
- Must have several years experience in the refining industry fulfilling similar responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel a must, both national and international travel. Passport required.
- Strong proficiency in MS based pc software
- Management experience required, Senior management experience preferred
- Ability to build relations at difficult interfaces at multiple levels across group businesses
- Excellent written, oral communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in another language is a plus ( European or Asian or Middle Eastern)
- Strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to filter external perspectives into the elements significant to commercial opportunity capture
- Demonstrated ability to build cohesive, sustainable, high performance teams
- Must have right to work in the US for other than current employer.
Education:
- College degree from accredited university/college in a scientific field such petroleum engineering, chemical engineering or chemistry or Business Degree required. Special consideration given to PhD or MBA.
