Job Description
Major Responsibilities:
The Utilities Engineer will provide day to day support of the environmental waste disposal operating units waste treatment and cooling towers at a large and diverse chemical plant in the Houston area. This will include process and compliance troubleshooting, supporting projects and unit turnarounds/shutdowns. The engineer will also be tasked with identifying and implementing quality, process and ESH related improvements; maintaining proper documentation, providing process engineering assistance, ensuring maintenance of compliance records, working with ESH issue owners, and integrating compliance requirements into unit operations. The position will also involve leading efforts in PSM, as well as supporting document management (MOC process). Other responsibilities include: participating in accident/incident investigations, developing operating procedures, performing training and providing off-hours support, cost monitoring and control, and interaction with third party customers. Required Skills
Qualifications/Competencies:
- BS in Chemical Engineering or ME is required.
- 2+ years of work experience is highly desired.
- Good interpersonal, communication and team-based skills.
