Our client is a large refinery that is building an in-house Safety Instrumented Systems group. The site is moving to two platforms. For exisiting Foxboro units that are being upgraded to a Emerson DeltaV DCS system, the SIS will be an intergrated DeltaV SIS logic solver. For existing Honeywell DCS systems and other stand alone SIS applications, the site is using Triconex logic solvers. They are dedicated to building a top notch group of SIS professionals to serve as an ongoing resource to the site and to implement a massive SIS upgrade project. If you have a solid technical background in SIS and you have good leadership and project management skills, then this will be an ideal position for you to use your talents. Profile: As SIS Group Leader you will provide guidance to a team of SIS Engineers that is being formed to address the design, management, implementation and documentation of SIS systems to ensure compliance with both internal and external industry standards (IEC 61508, IEC 61511,ISA S84.01). Key functions of the SIS team will include development of site technical practices governing the life cycle of SIS systems, participating in hazard risk analysis including Hazard and Operability Reviews (HAZOP) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), participating in design reviews of SIS’s, performing functional safety reviews, and auditing compliance with internal and external standards. For the next five years, there will be large amounts of capital dedicated to the DCS / SIS systems upgrade project.

Qualifications: BS in EE with a minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in the field of instrument and controls is required, with at least 5 years with safety instrumented systems (SIS). You should have proven leadership experience of other professionals in a technical capacity.
