Rotating Equipment Engineer – Refining #1263
LOCATION: Houston, TX
SALARY: Base range is 85-105k
Our client, a large Houston, TX area refinery, has engaged us to locate a Machinery Reliability Engineer. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of rotating equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Reliability engineering relating to rotating equipment such as ANSI/API pumps, centrifugal compressors, centrifuges, cooling tower fans and pumps, gear boxes.
- Monitoring equipment performance and making recommendations to improve reliability and reduce cost.
- Providing cost estimating and engineering proposals on routine replacement of equipment to correct maintenance problems or for the improvement of processing equipment.
- Technical oversight on equipment installation.
- Review of spare parts.
- Conducting root cause failure analysis.
- Lead on machinery management of changes.
- Analyzing top 10 bad actors.
- Participating with asset and reliability improvement teams.
- Updating and maintaining assigned maintenance procedures.
- Identifying, tracking and reporting on assigned key performance indicators.
- Providing technical support to operations and maintenance organizations; and other departments in the operation and care of equipment in area of expertise.
- Keeping current on new technology and equipment and evaluating its application in the plant.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a refinery or chemical plant environment.
- Proficiency in computer software (database use, Excel, Word, etc.) is required.
- Vibration analysis certification a plus
SALARY/BENEFITS:
- Base salary range is 85-105k
- Potential bonus of 0- 7%
- Full relocation
