Project Manager #1667

Location: Mobile, AL/Pensacola, FL area
Salary:

The purpose of this position is the Full Project Management responsibility for the planning, construction, commissioning and handover of the multifunctional plant expansion project. Project value will be in the $40-$50 million range. This position will report to the VP of Operations and will have approximately six direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Lead as Project Manager the planning, implementation and delivery stages of the multifunctional expansion project.
  • Lead the Front-End definition phase of the project.
  • Deliver project within schedule, sanctioned cost and agreed KPI’s such as safety.
  • Ensure all stages of the project meet or exceed Corporate EHS and Process Safety Standards.
  • Provide effective project management, through multi-disciplinary teams drawn from a number of functions, departments and/or locations.
  • Assist in the recruitment/appointment of the Project Team.
  • Participate in the selection of the EPCM contractor, ensuring that Corporate Purchasing strategies and guidelines are met.
  • Lead, develop and motivate indirect subordinate (contractors) staff on projects. Ensure they fully understand their accountabilities and have the appropriate skills to carry out their tasks.
  • Report project progress on a weekly basis to the Project Sponsor and the Project Steering Team.
Requirements
  • University degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Professional experience in an engineering manager role, including significant project management experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Successful project management of at least two projects of value >$20 million
  • Successful project management of significant value projects which required major integration with existing and operating processes
  • Experience in all relevant project methodologies (e.g. Front End Engineering, estimating, work breakdown structure, planning, cost control, contracts, design reviews, execution strategies, procurement, construction & commissioning).
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams of (technical) professionals.
  • Understanding of key financial metrics
