Project Engineer #1258
Location: Memphis, TN
Salary: 70-80K plus some profit share
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Our client is a large specialty chemical company and is seeking a Project Engineer to manage a variety of small to medium sized plant improvement projects and initiatives on an ongoing basis. You will ensure that equipment and facilities are properly installed and/or modified as required. You will also provide practical, economical, and timely technical solutions to problems and provide engineering support to Operations and Maintenance as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The preparation of concise, well written reports and/or job order requests that clearly identify the issue, scope of the solution, benefits, alternatives considered, and the degree of risk which may be encountered.
- The orderly and rapid completion of projects assigned in the most economical and timely manner consistent with good engineering and safe work practices.
- The supervision and control of all personnel working on assigned projects to ensure that they are completed satisfactorily.
- Ensure that cost overruns are avoided in all projects assigned.
- Ensure new equipment is designed and installed to allow easy maintenance and that maintenance instructions, prints, and documentation is available, and properly filed.
- The evaluation of deficiencies discovered in the process and equipment and the development of standard procedures for performing work, reducing waste, conserving energy and reducing costs.
- Assist the Safety Department in the area of fire alarm systems, pump house, sprinkler and foam systems, and also the emergency system.
- Keep documentation, drawings, P&IDs updated and current.
- The employee must be completely conversant with applicable safety, loss prevention, and environmental standards of the Company, business group, and plant. The employee must also be aware of the regulatory requirements and must implement those standards as specified in the standards and regulatory requirements in this work assignment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Engineering
- 3-5 years experience in Engineering, Operations or Maintenance.
- Distributive Controls / PLC experience / PSM experience preferred
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Human relations skills
- SAP,MS Office And Autocad experience preferred
