General Function
Leads plant initiatives in support of Manufacturing Excellence (PIP, Lean Manufacturing, TRACS, KPI’s, etc.). Gives guidance to operations and maintenance groups in support of plant initiatives directed at improving uptime, safety and environmental performance, reliability, and plant efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Directs activities within various departments in support of plant initiatives designed to improve plant uptime, plant efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety and environmental performance.
- Tracks performance of plant key performance indicators in support of manufacturing excellence initiatives
- Develops and implements new strategies in support of improvements in plant operations (uptime, efficiency, cost/ton, safety performance, environmental performance, )
- Ability to motivate and direct personnel in achieving key deliverables in support of manufacturing excellence
- Work with Consultants to implement programs or changes in operating and maintenance practices that support improvements in uptime, efficiency, cost/ton, safety and environmental performance.
- Direct activities within various plant groups which best supports the ideals and practices of Manufacturing Excellence. Make decisions on progress based on KPI’s, interactions with Operations/Maintenance/Engineering/Administration staff, and Consultants.
Requirements
- BS Chemical Engineer
- Minimum of 5 yrs experience in Chemical or Petrochemical manufacturing
- Ability to understand chemical process including heat and material balances, P&IDs, KPI’s, factors affecting plant uptime and efficiency, understand the importance and role of safety and environmental compliance while maximizing plant production, understands and works with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and support services to achieve Manufacturing Excellence.
