Job Description:
As a process control engineer with my client, you will play a key role in the completion of a major expansion project. Your initial task will be to assist in tying together all the major controls into the main control room. Upon completion of the expansion project you will then be supporting a project to convert the existing refinery over to a new Experion System.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for process control development and implementation on several units during the detailed engineering, construction and startup phases.
- Interact with Company and contractor control systems engineers, process engineers, project engineers, instrument engineers, electrical engineers, technical specialists and operating representatives on the project team. Interface with and provide guidance to contractor controls systems personnel.
- Understand refinery economics to determine where value added opportunities may exist.
- Initiate and develop details of process control strategies on new and existing refinery processes.
- Participate in PFD, P&ID, HAZOP, and ESM System reviews.
- Participate in decisions regarding control console, building design, and control system selection.
- Review loop sheets, alarm lists, control logic diagrams, control narratives.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering
- 5 years refinery experience
- Honeywell Experion PKS experience is preferred, as well as familiarity with TDC 3000 and data hiway.
