Reliability Engineer #1733

Location: Houston, TX
Salary: 100 – 120k with profit share, full relo with home buy option, 401k, pension, 9/80 work week

Responsibilities:

Our client operates a large and diverse petrochemical complex in the Houston area. They are adding to the reliability department as a strategic emphasis to expand production at the site. They are seeking Reliability engineers with proven track records in refining or large scale petrochemicals process who have a good grasp on reliability methodologies and techniques. Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze Plant reliability performance data and provide reliability data to site personnel.
  • Knowledge / skill of Reliability Engineering Principles, practices and application and ability to discern appropriate application including but not limited to: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA),Causal Learning investigation techniques (level 1 and 2),Fault Tree Analysis (FTA),Reliability Block Diagram (RBD),Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), Weibull analysis, etc.
  • Inquire on systems perspectives when engaged in discussions throughout the organization
  • Help link the different facets of Reliability into one strategy.
  • Resource for risk assessment of threats in the database, providing a common link across the organization to help ensure consistency.
  • Knowledgeable in the following areas and available to the department and the organization to provide skills in Investigation facilitation / Causal Learning: Risk Assessment, After Action reviews, Systems Thinking.
  • Define asset availability and capability gaps.
  • Assist in development of the site’s Reliability Strategy to close gaps in availability, capability and competence.
  • Perform Deep Dives on equipment and processes based on performance, risk, and criticality Techniques to employ here include FMEA and Fault tree.
  • Equip individuals and teams in the knowledge, concepts, and skills to analyze and mitigate equipment failures.
  • Use Reliability Engineering Principles and Reliability Centered Maintenance tools (RCI, Weibull, FMEA, Fault Tree) to increase production and eliminate bad actors.
  • Evaluates and quantifies the impact of capital projects such as design changes, or equipment quality that will have an impact on reliability.
  • Ensure that the Production team is using Top threats and Bad Actor lists to drive what they work on.
  • Perform Asset utilization and cost data analysis to develop and prioritize a list of reliability opportunities – top threats and bad actors

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in Discipline Engineering, production team support engineering, maintenance support both Turnaround and routine, causal learning or other investigatory analysis techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-discipline engineering teams.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing process plant setting including specific process units, industry plant design standards, and management of change.
  • Proven experience in process management and or project management.
