Sr. Rotating Equipment Engineer – Turbomachinery #1731

Location: Houston, TX
Salary: 115 – 135k base salary plus profit share

Our client operates a world class petrochemical plant in the Houston area that has a variety of large scale rotating equipment. They are currently seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer with a solid knowledge of maintenance, repair and reliability improvements in multistage steam turbines and centrifugal compressors. This site has large and unique equipment and this role will be the site lead on all rotating equipment issues.. Business is excellent and it looks like major plant expansions are in the near future. This is a smaller size petrochemical and midstream organization with low bureaucracy where you can really make a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of Rotating Equipment at the site and provide technical support to the maintenance department.
  • Perform RCFA and work with plant personnel on troubleshooting and innovations such as design solutions.
  • Develop reliability best practices and strategic programs, develop and optimize preventative maintenance work and specify critical spares
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives
  • Support outages, turnarounds and capital projects
  • Provide training to plant personnel.
  • Develop repair, installation and run procedures and provided guidance for shop work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
  • Works closely with Vendors and Suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of work or components.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
  • 10+ years in Mechanical Engineering role in Rotating Equip/Turbo machinery
  • 50% Office Environment with 50% field work
