Fixed Equipment Engineer #1058

Location: Large Refinery in Houston, TX

One of our top clients, a major oil refinery in the Houston, TX vicinity, has an opportunity for a Fixed Equipment Engineer. This is a large and diverse heavy crude refinery with a variety of fixed equipment to keep you challenged. The company has a well established reliability organization and is seeking and engineer who can help them continue to pursue reliability excellence. This company encourages participation in industry trade groups and standards committees and believes in on-going training.

DESCRIPTION

  • Primary role is to ensure that equipment integrity is maintained.
  • Providing fixed equipment engineering technical support operations, maintenance, and turnaround planning.
  • Field troubleshooting, repair scope development, materials specification, training, and interaction with operations/maintenance/contractor personnel.
  • Scoping and facilitating cost effective modifications/upgrades/additions to existing equipment and piping within the refinery and detailing resulting MOC issues.
  • Manage expense projects for fixed equipment and multi-discipline projects and will be the technology owner for fixed equipment engineering standards.
  • Review/update standards to keep up with current technologies and industry trends.
  • Initial assignment with one section of the complex and support fixed equipment issues in other areas of the refinery as required.
  • Provide detailed, accurate specifications and instructions to Purchasing for new equipment and component quotations and requisitions and will conduct root cause failure analysis and incident investigations as required to prevent repeat failures and make improvements to existing procedures and standards.
  • Growth potential could be into a fixed equipment group leader or inspection/mechanical integrity supervision position or into the corporate reliability group as a subject matter expert.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS ME
  • 3 to 20+ years of experience

COMPENSATION

  • Base range up to120k
  • Bonus 5 – 10% plus 9/80 work schedule
